The prevalence of substance misuse and substance use disorders is rising. Research pinpoints 75% of adults experiencing an untreated substance use disorder are in the workforce. The construction industry has been hit hard by the opioid crisis. The rate of substance use disorder in the construction industry is approximately 15% - twice all other industries. Substance misuse has tragic human consequences and costly financial impacts on employers.

Join us for breakfast and an informative discussion led by Cal Beyer, CWP, Sr. Director of SAFE Workplaces, SAFE Project. Learn how to de-stigmatize substance misuse and learn new methods to remove barriers for people in need to seek and accept help. Speaker Biography

Cal Beyer, CWP is the Sr. Director of SAFE Workplaces for national nonprofit SAFE Project (SAFE stands for Stop the Addiction Fatality Epidemic). Cal is a catalyst, advocate, and a force multiplier to educate, equip, and empower leaders and organizations to address root causes of addiction AND to amplify their voices and actions to promote successful solutions in workplaces. Cal helped launch the Construction Industry Alliance for Suicide Prevention in 2016.
