Suicidal thoughts, much like mental health conditions, can affect anyone regardless of age, gender or background. In fact, according to the Centers for Disease Prevention, construction occupations have the highest rate of suicide, as well as the highest number of suicides across all occupational groups.

Join us for an informative workshop and learn more about the risk of suicide in the construction industry, and the resources available to companies to take the steps necessary to make suicide prevention a health and safety priority, build mental health literacy, and normalize conversations surrounding suicide and mental health in the industry.

Guest Speaker: Michelle Walker, CCIFP, SPHR, is the Vice President of Finance and Administration at SSC Underground in Phoenix, AZ. 

Michelle’s combination of business acumen and passion for people have merged together as a founder and immediate past-chair of the Construction Industry Alliance for Suicide Prevention. An active member of the Construction Financial Management Association, Michelle is past-president of the Valley of the Sun chapter. She presents often at industry events on topics including suicide prevention, leadership, employee engagement and financial management.
